A friend of mine just did a southern accent blog. It is a video blog. You read a list of words and answer some questions: then you let us know how country you think we sound. My husband thought I should do this... so I did. Enjoy!
The words are: Aunt, Route, Wash, Oil, Theater, Iron, Salmon, Caramel, Fire, Water, Sure, Data, Ruin, Crayon, Toilet, New Orleans, Pecan, Both, Again, Probably, Spitting Image, Alabama, Lawyer, Coupon, Mayonaise, Syrup, Pajamas, Caught...
The Questions are:
What do you call it when it rains when the sun is shining?
What it the thing you change the tv channel with?
What do you call the contraption in which you carry the groceries at the supermarket?
What is it called when you paper someones house?
What is the bug that curls into a ball when you touch it?
What is the bubbly carbonated drink called?
What do you call gym shoes?
What do you say to address a group of people?
I cant wait to see your answers!
I could really hear the accent when you said Alabama, and with your grandparents' names. So glad you played along.
ReplyDeletetoo funny!!! Spitt-in image! You southerns and your silly accents. Always adding syllables where they don't belong!

ReplyDeleteI just wanted to chime in regarding your post, "living with someone who lives with anxiety." I also have anxiety issues. I happened on your husband's blog and in turn, came across yours. I commend you and your approach to dealing with the issue of anxiety. I think I might tag along for a while if you don't mind.
